Sea salt is a very broad term which usually refers to both coarse sea salt and fine sea salt harvested directly from an ocean or sea. As for coarse sea salts, these are mostly harvested from oceans around the world. They’re harvested mainly from areas that have high concentrations of dissolved oxygen. Concentrations of oxygen can be increased by commercial fishing, which involves the capturing of sea animals like lobsters and tuna, which are exposed to the open waters. Then these are frozen and shipped to different places in order to be Harvested.
Irradiated sea salt or fine sea salt comes in various forms. Some varieties come in crystal formations while others come in fine powder. The fine powder varieties are more concentrated compared to the crystal formations and it contains more iodine. However, these too can be harvested from seawater so they too have their own benefits. All they need to know is that sea salt comes in three different grades or varieties based on the minerals and other qualities they contain.
